Description

 

Time Travel Belval: a magical journey through time by using Virtual Reality technology and experience the Minett's iron ore history.

Follow the footsteps of your ancestors who worked for many years in the iron and steel industry, allowing us today to have one of the strongest presences in the world.

This experience brings together the past and the present, the handiwork and technology at our fingertips. You won't need your pickaxe and helmet to explore more of Luxembourg's steel industry, but you will climb aboard our mini-bus and put on your VR glasses to immerse yourself in its era of industrialization up to the 1970's.

You will be totally immersed in the beginning of the 20th century (more exactly in 1908) where the history of the old Bel-Val water source will be told to you. The source was considered a "medicinal water" for a long time and had fallen into oblivion as it was known as "the most pleasant of medicinal table waters". For this reason, it was awarded numerous international prizes. Pierchen, your virtual coachman, will be happy to tell you more stories ;-)

• Virtual Reality: 15 minutes
• Duration: 25 minutes

 

In addition of the time travel experience, each person will get 2 free vouchers for 2 exhibitions at the "Möllerei" building or the Massenoire, as part of the Esch2022 project. They can be redeemed until the end of the last exhibition in February 2023.

About the project :

In the framework of Esch2022, European Capital of Culture, this tour has been launched to enhance an exceptional cultural heritage. The Belval region will be the setting for a new form of "Time Travel" using virtual reality. Supported by the Directorate-General for Tourism, this time travel allows visitors to go back in time and trace the history of the old Bel-Val water source and the history of industrialisation.

Information

The VR experience is not allowed for children under 8 years.  It is not recommended for people suffering from epilepsy
